I am not sure what else to do, so, I was hoping that someone answering
questions in this Discissions Group could find out what is going on in
another part of Microsoft.

I am trying to post a question to the Microsoft Vista Discussions.
I am having a Vista Security issue. I need to post something.
The Vista Discussions web page is not working and there is no way to email
anyone for help. So, I was hoping that someone in this Discussions group
could contact someone in the Vista Discussions to find out what is going on.
Or, maybe someone here can help because the pages work the same way.

Here is what is happening:

I am having this problem when I go to this page, which is the Windows Vista
Security Discussions page. But, this happens on all the Discussion pages in
this website:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/co...&cr=US&r=9dcac6a3-b8e7-4ba3-aa06-4e38b8ee9f35

1. I can see the little "New" drop down list with the "Question",
"Suggestion" and "General Comment" options. But, when I select one of them,
the page just refreshes.

2. The page is also showing the "Sign In" button. But, when I click on it,
the page just refreshes.

I can post successfully to this MS OFFICE Discussions Group. The little drop
down works there. I get the new pop up window with the fields to enter my
issue.

Is something wrong with the Vista Discusstions website?
I have received help and have posted things on this Vista Discussions page
before. It is a good source of information and a good place to visit.

I also found the MSN Answers (Beta) page. Is this going to replace that
Discussions page? (I posted something there, but no reply yet.)

Can someone please find out what is going on here?
I have been unable to do anything with this page for a few days now, so I am
thinking that this is not a temporary problem

Did you see my reply to you in your previous post on this issue?

Additionally, if you can use an alternate newsreader, such as Windows Live
Mail, to access the newsgroups you'll probably have a better newsgroup
experience. The majority of the regular contributors here don't use the web
interface on the MS site to access the newsgroups - it's far too cumbersome
and flakey. ;-)

You should be able to click the following link to add this newsgroup to
Windows Live Mail:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.misc

Windows Vista General:

news://msnews.microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

Here are a couple of tips for using WLM for the newsgroups:
- Use View/Current View/Show Replies to My Messages to find your posts
- Click Newsgroups to obtain a list of all newsgroups you can subscribe to

Beth:

I did not know about this. I will definitely check it out.
There are so many good MS resources out there.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Ken

Do yourself a BIG favour and ditch the horrible web interface. Use a news
reader instead.
