I need help please, anyone:

I installed it, yes I did, and all USB totally died. I then
shut down the computer and switched the mouse to PS2
using an adapter.

I then used keyboard to download and install

"Update for Windows XP (KB822603)
This update addresses the "Availability of the Windows

XP SP1 USB 1.1 and 2.0 Update" issue in Windows XP."

WindowsXP-KB822603-x86-ENU.exe

It says on that page:
This update addresses the "Availability of the Windows
XP SP1 USB 1.1 and 2.0 Update" issue in Windows XP
and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB)
Article 822603. Download now to install the Windows
XP SP1 USB 1.1 and 2.0 update. After you install this item,
you may have to restart your computer.

Yet it did not work and restore USB... what do I do now,
and keep SP1a ??????????? I have several USB devices
I would like to use...

Pentium 4 2.60c ghz HT
Abit IS7 > Intel INF update installed for 865pe ICH5r chip-set
from the Abit website
512 x 2 kingston dual channel CL3
WinXP/ SP1a
integral USB 2.0

Thanks,

Alex

I'd suggest asking this in a newsgroup devoted to Windows XP (they all start
microsoft.public.windowsxp) microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware may be your
best starting point.

This newsgroup is for questions about setup and configuration for Access,
the database product.
