ms word 2000 - text form field character limit

I have created a form in MS Word 2000 which contains text form fields
for entry. I have had a customer complain that when they print the
form after entry it doesn't print everything they have typed into the
form field.

This led me to believe that there are limitations of the number of
characters that a form field can contain.

Am I correct on this? If so what is the limitation and is there a work
around?

The form field may be in a table cell with exact dimensions.

The contents of a text form field can be limited in the "Maximum
length" box in the Text Form Fields dialog box. Also, if the form
field is in a table cell, how much is displayed depends on the
dimensions of that table cell.
