i received a word document via email attachment. I can't
open it and I get an error saying check the file
permission. I can't save or open the document and so
there is no way I can change the attributes. Is there
any other way to open it??

Some Internet channels won't carry Word documents correctly. Ask the sender
to ZIP the document and attach it to an email.
