MS Word 2003 - Cannot send document to email as attachment

N

Neil

I created a document in MS Word, and tried to send it as an attachment from
the File/Send To/Mail Recipient (As Attachment). When I do this, nothing
happens. If I try and close MS Word, I get a message that Word cannot close
until the process of sending the message is completed. I finally have to
terminate Word in Task Manager by killing the process.

I reseached this in Google, and found a Microsoft article (834008), which
suggested either changing my default e-mail to Outlook (worked, but my wife
doesn't want this), or cehcking some Registry entries. IAll of the Registry
entiries were correct.

I have my E-mail program set for MSN in Internet Explorer Programs. Although
I use Outlook, my wife prefers to use MSN, so I set the default accordingly.
My O/S is Win XP Pro SP-2, Office Version is Professional 2003,. Both are
fully updated. When

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Use seperate accounts/profiles on the PC. As long as you attempt to both
have differing views/settings on the same profile, someone's will not be
what they want.

We have separate accounts. That is not the problem. I cannot attach a
document I am editing in MS Word from MS Word using either profile.

Please correct the following in your profile.

"I have my E-mail program set for MSN in Internet Explorer Programs.'

I don't know what you're suggesting. I want MSN to bethe default e-mail
program, and have set it as such.

I just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled all programs. Before this,
I did not have this problem. I should be able to click on File/Send To/Mail
Recipient (As Attachment), and send the document as an attachment to an MSN
e-mail. My problem is, I cannot do this. MS Word hands, and I have to close
it out manually via Task Manager/Processes. I can attach the document to an
e-mail via MSN E-mail and send it, but that is not the point..

Then you will need to attach the document to the e-mail yourself. MSN is
not "integrated" with Office.
