MS Word 2003 Locked out

I use to have SQL on my computer and when I removed it, I started to
expeirence problems with MS Word 2003. It is locked I can't create a document
nor edit. I tried activating it but it will not prompt when I press activate
product. I removed office and installed it again but it continued to be
disabled. All button on the top menu are not functional and are color gray.

Please advise in detail, I'm new.

I tried this method and it still will not unlock. is there a way to clean
the registry
so that prior MS applications will not appear?
