Problem Description: For the last couple of days Word has not been acting
properly. So yesterday morning I ran update and was notified that this is not
a genuine version, which is totally incorrect as I know I purchased Office
2003 Standard and I have the CDs.
I decided to "activate" Word and received a message that it has already been
activated.
Now when I go to Help, Check for Updates, I am taken to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/default.aspx, and am no longer
taken directly to the page where my system is checked for updates
automatically (as was in the past).
Also, when I start Word, I now receive a message that my version is not
genuine.
And here is the other thing, because my version of MS Office 2003 is
considered to be non-genuine, I can no longer access my exterior back-up
drive.
So how do I fix Office 2003 so I can continue working. I do have the
original disks although I have no receipt. I believe I purchased the software
on E-Bay. I did attempt to research this myself on their web site, but there
seems to be solutions for on Office 2007.
Please help as I am very desperate at this point. The ONLY thing that I did
just prior to all of this happening is I ran Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
