MS Word 2007 and lag time in typing

I have noticed that while typing in Word 2007, the program is not keeping up
with the speed at which I am typing. There is a lag time of approx. 2-3
seconds before the word(s) I just typed appear on the screen. Is there a
setting I need to adjust? Thanks.
