MS Word 97 Wont Install

D

Dreamspinner3

I have MS Word 97 as part of the Works Suite 99 and I'm trying to install it
onto my PC which is running Windows XP Home Edition & I can't get the
program to install. The set up screen doesn't appear when I put the CD in.
When I try to run to setup.exe manually, the set up screen comes up and
allows me to pick what programs I want to install, then I get a white box
that says "MICROSOFT WORKS SUITE 99 SETUP" in the blue bar and in the box it
says INSTALLING MICROSOFT WORD--but nothing happens.

Isn't MS Word 97 compatible with Windows XP? If it is, why can't I get my
copy to install?

Thanks for the help.

Word 97 is compatible with Windows XP.

Check the installation CD for a Word folder and see if it contains a
Setup.exe and try installing Word without installing the rest of Works
Suite.
