MS Word as e-mail editor

I have been using MS Word as e-mail editor with Outlook 2003, OS WIn XP Pro.
All of a sudden, I cannot send, forward or reply because Word 2003 will not
open. I get the hour glass icon, and I am forced to end the program. I have
re-installed Office 2003 (Find & Repair Problems), re-started, disconnected
modems, all to no avail. Any suggestions?
