MS Word auto date

Whenever I refer to a backed up document it substitutes that date for
the original date, which I would prefer to keep.

Ther's something silly simple to stop that happening I hope.

Advice please

It means you've used DATE fields. Replace these with CREATEDATE or PRINTDATE
fields (according to what you want).
