MS Word Crashes on Intel Mac

Hi all,

Whenever I try to boot MS word on my Intel-based mac, it woks fine. However on my sister's user-name, it quits unexpectedly. I read that Word has problems with 3rd party apps, so we disabled all her widgets, but word still crashes. Do I need to delete all here widgets? (100+)

I can't tell much from the crash log. I would say that system is critically
low on RAM, but that shouldn't cause the problem you are seeing.

All we can say is that ONE of the add-ins or helpers that Word is calling is
throwing an exception by trying to write into kernel memory. That's likely
because it's incompatible with the version of OS X in use.

The "Word Settings" folder isn't in the "[username]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/" directory. I also tried holding down the shift key on startup, but Word still crashed.

BTW: I'm using Word 2004, and these help options are for Word 08. I found the "Crash with MacIntel &amp; Word 2004", but the issue was fixed in the OS X 10.4.8 update (I have 10.4.11). I can't even access the file,word, edit, etc. menus, I only am able to access the "Project Gallery - New" window. Whenever I try to open a new template in Word, Excel, Powerpoint,etc. Word crashes, the splash screen for the other app comes up (Excel, PP) and the second app crashes as well.

I have tried re-installing Office 04 many times on my sister's account. I even made her an admin.

Is there a way to delete all the Office prefs and have them re-created when i run Word again?

Ok, I got it. I just deleted the Microsoft folder under preferences, and everything was re-created. Word works fine now.
