MS Word Cursor Default

Installed MSW2003 + SP1 + all other updates. I noticed that the default
cursor position (in all views) is at the very top of the document and appears
not to be picking up the page setup defaults.

When I view header/footer and close that tool bar, the cursor assumes its
correct position in the document and does appear to be picking up the page
setup defaults.

I've deleted and replaced the normal.dot file to no avail. This is a
particularly bothersome behaviour that I don't know how to fix.

Try moving the mouse pointer to the divide point between pages and hover the
gap: the pointer will Popup with 'Show White Space'. CLICK.

Thanks Suzanne, the entire article explains it very well. I didn't know what
to search on to find it. What I'm surprised about is that MS disables the
white space on default.

Cheers,
Mike

It doesn't. White space is *not* disabled by default but Word will remember
your settings. You undoubtedly hid the white space by inadvertently clicking
between pages.
