MS Word French Calculations

I have some documents which do calculations. These were prepared in M
Word 2000. The construction is Tables and fill in fields. The formula
are written to produce results.

When I try to use the same in Word 2007 French Edition it gives al
kinds of error messages.

1) Does French edition require formulas to be written in some differen
syntax?

2) In general Word 2007 uses different syntax?
