MS Word has quit saving changes to document

Adam

I had previously saved some work on a word document a day or two ago. After
opening the document tonight, adding some more information and saving it
every 10-15 min., I restarted my computer. Upon opening the document, it had
saved a small portion of the work that had been added to it tonight. Any
ideas what happened and if the information it did not save is somehow
recoverable?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Save | uncheck the "Allow
fast saves" box | OK.

Do not save directly to floppy disks or other removable media
from Word or other Office applications.

Be sure to close the Word file and then the Word application
before you shut down or restart the computer.

In olden days, kids used the "the dog ate my homework" excuse...
nowadays, kids use the "the computer ate my homework" excuse...
your teacher has heard these excuses a zillion times and knows
what they usually mean.
