MS Word lockup when closing document templates

Fill-in-the-blank documents with text fields being used. Saving document
works fine. Closing document works fine. Trying to close down MS Word locks
up. Only way to clear it is to go to Windows Task Manager and manually end
task.

Maybe the result of an incompatible HP printer driver or possibly a third
party has added a custom Close macro. What happens if you start in Safe Mode
and try to Close? From Start | Run (Winkey+R), type in

winword /a

and press enter. Word will start in Safe mode: test opening a document and
closing Word now.

Please let us know which versions of OS and Office you are using and are
they all patched up to date in any follow up post please.
