MS Word-Mac printing

I have MS Wd 2001 on my 2000 I-Mac w/OS 9.2. When I print to my Lexmark
laser printer it leaves off some of the apostrophes or quotation marks
in the document I am printing. I've tried select-all--copy and pasting
it in a new document. It sometimes works. But when I open another
document and try to print it I'll get the same problem. I've tried
reinstalling Office but no luck. I increased memory to 512mg. Any
thoughts?

Hi tx1-

Can't say I have the answer, but I do have a question... How many hours
(pages) have you logged on the printer?

What you describe is sometimes symptomatic of the drum not being able to
hold toner in small areas (commas & other punctuation marks as opposed to
larger areas). Especially if the problem is "random" or "intermittent" as
you suggest.

You might want to check with Lexmark. The unit may be due for routine
maintenance or it may just be time to replace it.

Good Luck |:>)

Have you tried printing using another font? It could be that there is
something wrong with the font rather than the printer. I do recall that
there was a problem with Arial and on the MS website there are a whole bunch
of replacement fonts to download. It¹s so long ago I can¹t remember the URL,
but I am sure there are MVPs who do read our messages who can help with
that.

It's possible that your printer may not have the font that the quotation
marks are in.

Try changing the font to one that you know your printer has. Or, if
possible, install the font you need on your printer. Apart from that, I
don't know what could be going wrong.
