ms word not recognizing document

[help!]

i am having this same problem. i saved the file on my hard drive and have
tried to re-open to continue editing and it appears to be "corrupt" and is
trying to convert. the file size is only 250 k but should be about 1.5 M

i believe it is a lost cause, but if anyone has suggestions, please let me
know.

In Word 2003 or 2007, use File, Open and chose the Open and Repair option.
If this fails or you have a different version, then you are pretty much
stuck with using the Recover Text from any File option to open, or open it
in a text editor and rescue the text.
