MS word progam has stopped working, it locks up whenever i try to.

MS word program locks up whenever i try to open it. I have checked for
viruse's, removed it from the hard drive and reinstalled, and still nothing.
I suspect perhaps i have a corrupt driver, but have no idea how to find or
fix it. All other applications on my pc are working just fine.
