MS Word Tables embedded in Powerpoint slides

When I embed a word table in a powerpoint slide and send it to a PC, the letters become garbled. Same thing happens from PC to my MAC. If I click on the table it corrects itself, but that is obviously not something I can ask my PC-based clients to do when I send them a presentation.
