MS Word (XP) Graphics Problem

A

arc

When I import a Jpeg or Tiff graphic into a word document, resize it
(smaller) change graphic layout to tight next to text paragraph then try to
move the graphic around it mysteriously snaps back to the original location.
The Anchor is not locked. This is driving me crazy also sometimes when I
try to copy the image and paste it on another page it totally disappears. I
must page up from the pasted location then page-down again and the graphic
appears but in a different location.

Can anyone out there help me on this one?

Thanks in advance.

I experience very similar problems: I have only one work around and that is
before moving a graphic to another page, I always change it to In Line. Then
I cut and paste it to a new page so that is anchored to a paragraph on the
new page before I switch it back to one of the wrapping options. I think the
problem actually lies in the Graphics Card/ Graphics driver software rather
than in Word: it may possibly be due to the printer driver as well.

Whatever is the cause, I can confirm it is a pain. Once I have it on the
correct page, I very often use the Format, Picture dialog, Layout Tab,
Advanced option and use the settings relative to the page options to
position the picture accurately. Word/Graphics seems more forgiving moving
it using the dialog than dragging it around.
