MS Word XP: L-shaped margin markers in page view and print preview

A

Anand

How do I get rid of these?

They are L-shaped marks that appear at the edges of the
page marked by the margins. They appear both in page view
and print preview. They don't actually appear on a printed
document, but I don't want to see them on the page.

Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Anand,

You have an East Asian language enabled on your computer
that causes the crop marks you decribe. It has nothing to
do with non-printing characters.

Start>All Programs>MicroSoft Office Tools>Microsoft Office
XP Language Settings. Disable the East Asian Language.

Hi Anand

From your description it sounds like you are seeing crop marks and this is
usually a result of having Asian language support enabled. I believe you can
disable it again using

Start > Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft
Office Language Settings

If you want to know more do a google group search on 'crop marks' and Asian.
