MS Word XP Safe Mode

All of a sudden yesterday when trying to open MS Word XP it will only open is
safe mode, have tried the detect and repair, no result, tried turning off
Norton 2006 Internet Security to see if that was a problem, no dice. Put
the program disk in and did a repair, still will only open in safe mode.
Help.
