Are you trying to get the Microsoft Word application, or are you trying to
download templates or add-ins or patches? There is a download site for
patches and add-ins at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx?displaylang=EN
and a Template Gallery at
http://office.microsoft.com/templates/default.aspx?

If you are trying to acquire Word, you can download a free trial version of
Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 from
https://microsoft.order-6.com/officestandardedition/addrform.asp, but note
that the trial software download is 228 megabytes (MB) so this download is
recommended only if you have a reliable broadband Internet connection.
Download times will vary depending upon the speed of your Internet
connection. You will need approximately 500MB of free hard disk space to
install the trial after you have downloaded it. The trial is functional for
only 60 days, after which you will have to pay the full price for it to keep
it working.

If you just need Word, by far the cheapest way to get it is as part of Works
Suite 2005, which includes a full version of Word 2002. If you buy it at
Amazon and apply for the $20 mail-in rebate, your bottom line is about $70.
