MS Works 8.0 Calendar

Mr Foxes

I am running Microsoft Works 8 Calendar on Windows XP

I can open the calendar from MS Works Task Launcher but when I then click on
"Open Calendar" (top right hand corner) I get an error message. The same
happens if I try and open MS Calendar direct

I've tried

deleting and re-installing MS Works

renaming and copying mswkcal.wld

setting up a new profile

Nothing worked and still the same error message

The error signature is

AppName - wkscal.exe ModName - wkcalac.dll
AppVer 8.4.623.0 Offset 00066736

Anybody have any ideas ?

Thanks Mary - I tried that as well.

I seem to have found the answer at

http://forum.worldstart.com/showthread.php?t=87352

It suggested

"Thanks for the tip, Kevin. I downloaded the MDAC checker program from the
link you provided, but everything checked out ok with MDAC.

I got it fixed by deleting the CalMRU file in C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Works folder.

Maybe if you come across anyone else with this problem, if none of the other
standard resolutions are effective, and if their CalMRU file is 0kB, they
might try deleting it (or backing it up by moving it to a different folder)
and launch Calendar to see if that works."

I did this and my calendar now works again
