Msg Interface error - tried all faq's. - now what? Help please.

ok...I can see from all the posts that this is a tough one. Will be as
specific as possible and really appreciate any help that can be provided:
Using: Outlook 2003 on Win XP system.
Specific problem: In the email application of Outlook
only and only when in an email, cannot do functions like (copy, paste, etc.),
not able to forward the email, no cc available, and won't access the address
book...however can type in an address and it sends fine.
Error MSG: Upon attempting to do any of those functions - "The message
interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart
Outlook."
Actions Tried so far to no avail:
1. Restarted Outlook
2. Restarted Computer
3. Emptied Deleted files folder (actually that was already done)
4. Used Inbox Repair Tool (found errors and said it repaired them but did
not fix this)
5. Used the Detect & Repair Office feature
6. Created a new profile. didn't seem to make any difference.
7. Tried with Word as the email format and without Word. Same problem.
8. Changed batteries in mouse.
9. Pulled out my 22 and ....no, not there yet, but getting close.

All other features of outlook seem to be working fine and right mouse menu
works in all other features too.

Ms. Staples, not to be rude, but the reason I posted this in "General" also
is that I cannot get any guidance from anyone on the problem. By anyone,
given the complexity of the problem, I assume it will probably be an MVP. I
posted several days ago and that post is actually missing so I reposted here
and in General. It would have been nice if you had chanced a helpful reply
rather than slapping my hand. This is very surprising as the MVP's here are
usually quite responsive and helpful to everyone.

Multi-posting requires people to post the same or conflicting information in varying forums and is a general waste of volunteer resources. If you want assistance from several forums, cross-post to get the maximum exposure to your question and the maximum input from the volunteers. Cross-posting is acceptable use of forums (provided they are all on target) but multi-posting is frowned on as wasteful of resources. http://www.dts.org/goodpost.

Thank you. I was unaware of the ability to cross post. That's great.
However, the link you provided on how to do it did not load. It gave this
message "503 Service Unavailable. No server is available to handle this
request."
Can you direct me to where I can learn how to cross post when needed?

Sorry about that - I posted it from my obviously fallible memory:
