Msgs. closing properly when moved to mail folders

Recently upgraded to Entourage 2008. Change in behavior - when I move a message I've just read to a folder, the message I've read may or may not be closed and the next message displayed. If I select a folder on the right-hand side of the move button, the msg. closes, moves, and the next msg. opens. If I select a new folder location using the main move button, the msg. moves but does not close. I have to manually close it. Either moving method works if I select the msg. in a folder view. Is this a bug or a new "feature"?

Are you opening the window for each message or are you using the 3 pane
view?

Try using these keyboard shortcuts documented in Entourage help:

OPTION+COMMAND (Apple)+[ Delete the current message and display the
previous message.

OPTION+Command (Apple)+] Delete the current message and display the next
message.

====
CTRL+OPTION+[ Delete the current message and display the previous unread
message.

====
CTRL+OPTION+] Delete the current message and display the next unread
Message.

Hi Diane -

Thanks for your reply. To clarify:

I use Entourage in 2 window mode, where I dbl click to open a message.

While the message is open in its own window, if I use the "Move to" button dropdown list of remembered folders, the open message closes, is moved, and the next message is displayed.

While the message is open in its own window, if I use the "Move to" button to open and select one of the folders in my mailbox, the open message is moved but the open message remains displayed on my screen. In this case, I expect Entourage behave the same as if the folder was on the remembered list, as I think it works in Entourage 2004.

Also note that in the 2nd case, the folder to which I move the message is NOT added to the remembered list on the "Move to" dropdown list.
