MSI file

Hello,

I developed an addin for MS-Project and close it as MSI. file.
I tested the add in on 3 different workstation with Project 2007 + SP2.
The security is low.

On 1 computer the addin work just fine. On the others, the installation
finished successfully but nothing happened at the MS-Project.

Any idea ?

Thanks

P.

Hi,

Can you check this please:

* Open Microsoft Project (on one of the machines where nothing happens)
* Add the COM Add-Ins button to one of the toolbars
o Right click the toolbar zone => Customize
o Select the Commands tab
o Under section 'All Commands' search for ComAddInsDialog
o Add it to one of the toolbars and hit close
* Check the status of your add-in
* Try to enable if from this dialog

Does this work for you?

Kind regards,
Hans

Hello Hans,

Thank you very much for your answer.
I've checked the COM Add-ins dialog box and I saw the following message:

Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.

Please advice.

Hi Poni,
I would go for a little trial and error method - I would try to publish a
clean MSI to the client computers and see if it works.
If it fails at this point, we should look into other possibilities, probably
related to client machines configuration.
If it works, than gradually I would insert the business logic until I get to
the point of failure and handle it specifically.
