I downloaded Office 2003 Sp1 and want to send it out to my
users via Group Policy but I need a MSI file to do this.
How can I get the MSI file for the updates?
Thanks,
Dan

I tried the -x switch that I found on Microsoft, but that
didn't work.
Any ideas?

How do i use group policy to deply .msp files?

-----Original Message-----
MSI files are part of the install packages. MSP files are the ones that are
used when applying patches such as service packs. You should be able to
extract the packages from the .exe files on this page...

I guess I will answer my own questions for others.
the -x does not work. if you type in the name of the .exe
file /? it will show you all the switches you need to
extract the files.
Well, none of these files are .MSI files so I can't use
them to install office updates via group policies anyhow.
I found a WinInstall program that creates .MSI files. I
have not used it yet.

Generally, you apply the update to the Office admin point
used when first deploying Office via Group Policy and
redeploy the updated set.
