MSN Explorer & Office 97

I am unable to see text when typing in the body of an
email using msn explorer with hotmail. The cursor moves
as if I'm typing and if I send the email the text is
there when I open it. This happened after installing
Office 97. If I uninstall 97 it works fine. I must use
Office 97, can anyone shed some light?
