MSNStockQuote Function in Excel 2003

It appears that the MSNStockQuote function that was available in Excel XP,
is no longer available in Excel 2003.

This was a simple way of adding a refreshable (delayed) stock quote to a
particular cell.

The only equivalent (that I can find) in Office 2003 is the Stock Actions
for the Research Task Pane download that allows you to insert stock quote
information from the MSN Money Stock Quotes service. This inserts
refreshable stock data into a spreadsheet, which sounds great, but it gives
you a heap of information over and above just the prevailing stock price.

Does anyone know of any way around this problem? Or if it is something
being looked at by MS, as it does strike me as being a retrograde step.

Thanks

Grahame

Have you looked into Data/Get External Data/Web Query? Using that you can
specify which data you want to get.

There's also the option of using temporary worksheet to get the big amount
of data, then use a cell reference to get the data to the sheet you want it
on.

A possible fix: Even though Office2003 setup uninstalled MSNStockQuote, I simply re-downloaded it and installed it. I've not tested it thoroughly, but it seems to be working...
