MSO Cache ???

I bought a laptop that has Works and Office 2003 Trial already on the
hard drive. I'm using Works. I loaded my own Word XP and Excel 2000.
I don't want Office 2003, but I don't want to destroy the files,
either. I've burned them to a CD and plan to delete them from the
hard drive.

In the C:\ folder there is also a file called MSOCache. I clicked
around -- some of the items relate to Office 2003. Can I delete this
folder? It contains about 80 Megs of stuff.

It is the installation files Office installations leave behind so you don't
need to insert the Office CD each time. If you are not going to use Office
2003, you can delete the files.

Microsoft recommends that you delete the folder MOSCache using Windows XP
Disk Cleanup. When you run Disk Cleanup on the C:\ drive, check the box for
Office Setup Files. See:
