Hi all,

I've run into a problem after changing licensed MSO 2003 Small Business
Edition (english) to Professional Enterprise Edition (lithuanian, another
licence). SBE worked fine in my box, but I missed some XML functionality in
it... So, I uninstalled SBE, installed PEE and suddenly found that all
speech recognition functionality had gone! I do understand that there is no
speech support for national language (Lithuanian in my case), but I just
want get back my speech support for English(US)! It was woking perfect
(reading, dictating & commands) in my previous MSO SBE, despite my
Lithuanian regional settings!
So the question is:
Is it possible to activate speech engine (for English language & keybord
layout) in national versions of MSO2003?
I do believe it is... If so, how?

Thank you in advance,
Vincas Stepankevicius

Hi Vincas,

As you noted there isn't a Lithuanian Speech module from Microsoft.
You'll need to install an English language Office 2003 Professional
to regain the speech recognition feature or you may want to consider
adding a 3rd party speech product such as Dragon systems

Hi, Bob,
thanks for Your replay, but I must itemise my question - I'm not looking for
Lithuanian Speech Recognition, I just want to use English SR. Is it
positively impossible in localized MSO versions at all?
thanks,
Vincas

Hi Vincas,

I don't have the list of all of the localised versions with me,
but the English language speech engine is not part of the Lithuanian
Office 2003 localized edition CDs as I understand it.
