MSO9.DLL

Does Microsoft Office '97 make use of any file named MSO9.DLL? If so, what for is it used? The Windows "Add/Remove Programs" dialog box (from "Control Panel") lists MSO9 (5.99MB) as one of the softwares installed in my system & I would like to remove it. Will it be safe i.e. will it affect MS-Office in anyway?? I seldom use MS-Office but wouldn't like to remove the entire MS-Office package from my machine (God knows when it might come handy in the future!!).

I have formatted my machine many a times & hence have re-installed MS-Office after formatting each time but if my memory serves me right, I guess this is the first time I find MSO9 listed as one of the softwares in the "Add/Remove Programs" dialog box! Although MSO9 was not listed in the past in the "Add/Remove Programs" dialog box, I never encounterd any problems using MS-Office; all the Office components (like Word, Access, Excel etc.) were running smoothly!

Please note that I am working on Windows 2000 Professional!

Thanks,

Arpan

Do not remove it unless you never intend to use any Office application.
