I'm running Office Prof. 97 with Windows 98 (second edition). After
downloading, installing and then uninstalling MSN Messenger, I have been
unable to open Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. For the first three I
receive the message: 'A required .DLL file, MSO97.DLL not found'. For Access
the message is that an error has occurred and advises me to check the memory
(but there is plenty). I have followed instructions in the Knowledge Base
article 164921 to check the registery setting. The .DLL file is in c:\Program
Files\MSOffice\Office which is exactly the value of BinDirPath. The problem
persists. Any ideas?
