MSOCACHE not removed on Install

I chose the option to remove the setup files when the installation of office 2003 was completed but the files were not removed. I also try to run the disk cleanup per microsoft's instructions but it locks up everytime at scanning compressed files. I left it for 2 hours and it never got past this part. I have also heard that even if you get completely into the disk cleanup program that you cannot choose to remove the office files. How can I reclaim the 200 something MB of space from the office installation safely
