Katie B.
have been attempting to install MSOffice Pro 2003 on my
computer (Windows XP) and continue to get the error 1311
each time I attempt to install. I went to the online
support and it did have the error listed but it also
listed the conditions that "must" exist in order for that
error to occur. Those conditions do not exist on my
computer, since it states that it is a network problem
and I was not hooked up to a phone line when attempting
to install. I did their workaround (making sure I had
the entire servicepack, which consisted of updating
DirectX) anyways, and it didn't help.
I can't call the support hotline, I now know, since I
called them already and they said they aren't allowed to
help me because I'm using a copy that was purchased by an
organization for the home use of its members.
I even tried not installing the component that was giving
me that error, and it found another CAB file it couldn't
deal with.
Help please?!
