MSOutlook 2000 SR-1 - Flag for follow-up on messages received

B

Blackowl

Is it possible to set a reminder (as can be done with tasks) when a message
is flagged for follow-up, so that a pop-up reminder comes up at the
appropriate date and time?

Yes.

Sorry, but I'm not exactly clear as to how it is done...

Any details, please.

Keep the message in a default mail folder (in-box for example) and then
right click on it and select the flag. Set your options as you prefer.

Milly,

I'm soory, but I think you might have misunderstood what I am trying to get
MSOutlook to do.

I was wondering if the flagged messages bring up a pop-up reminder at a
specified time - in the same fashion as do the pop-up reminders on the Task
notices

They will if you set the flag to remind you and set the parameters. Right
click on the message and select what actions you want and when. Ensure the
message is in the efault in-box.

Thanks, Milly, the reminders do work with the flagged messages in my Inbox.

But- this procedure defeats the purpose of my having filters on my incoming
messages - because when a message (already moved to another folder) needs to
be flagged with a reminder, I have to go to through the hassle of moving it
back to the Inbox.

And as I have numerous filters operating at any one time, and as I like to
flag any number of messages, all this is not at all convenient.
