How do you restore the MSP files to update Office? Thank

Try uninstalling Office and then reinstalling it. See my
solution response to Steve's "data1.msi" email dated
November 12th. This cleanup utility only works for
Windows Installer Versions 1.1 and earlier.

Post whether or not this works for you.

I have had the same problem, but it does not even allow
me to uninstall office. I get the error "This patch
package could not be opened. Verify that the patch
package exists and that you can access it, or contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows
installer patch package".

On checking the Knowledge Base - article 814833 describes
the problem and suggests reinstalling the SP2. When I try
to reinstall SP2, I get teh same error message that it
cannot find the patch package.

Can someone please help .. how about Microsoft.. this
seems to be a common problem
