MSP Project Workgroup + Lotus Notes

I am part of a team managing a very large & complex
project. We have to maintain around 10 Microsoft Project
plans. We are using a central resource pool for allocating
and tracking resources. We are still using Microsoft
Project 98 (unfortunately we can't upgrade), because of
which we are unable to use the collaborative features of
the newer versions of MSP. We tried to use the Workgroup
feature of MSP, however our organization uses LOTUS NOTES
(not outlook) because of which we haven't been able to
exploit this feature fully. I was hoping that using the
Workgroup feature, I will be able to send out mails with
assignments to team members and also get updates thereby
enabling better tracking. Does anyone know if Lotus Notes
can be interfaced with MSP 98? Is there any other way of
doing this ? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

For whatever reason, Lotus Notes doesn't work as well with Microsoft
Project as Microsoft Outlook does. This has been discussed numerous
times in past in this newgroup with no real resolution of the "magic"
required to make it work (to my knowledge). Perhaps you can look back
at the old postings for inspiration. Report back here if you find success!
