MSP Task popup in Gantt view

Why am I getting what appears to be corrupted text in the popup when I
highlight a bar in the gantt view. This also happens in the legend. I am
using MSP 2007

Example: A#1$1, with some additional characters that are unavailable from my
keyboard, in place of the word Task on the popup. Or the same type text
appears in my legend.

Hi Lorraine,

Yes, the names of the Gantt bars get scrambled with using the Gantt
chart wizard. Ensure you have the latest service pack installed,
but even then, you may wish to avoid running the Gantt chart wizard
unless necessary. You can fix the issue by going into Format > Bar
Styles and re-entering names for the Gantt bar styles.
