Microsoft Office are the programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Microsoft
Office Project is considered part of the "Office Suite" but there is no
version of "Microsoft Office" you can buy that includes Project as part of
the deal. It is always a stand alone purchase.

As for books, by far the best book on the market today was written by MVP
Dale Howard. He works at MSProjectExperts.com. Here's a link to his book
named Ultimate Learning Guide to Microsoft Office Project 2007 - The Only
Book You'll Ever Need to Learn Project:

It breaks things down to small chunks and very small exercises so you don't
get lost.
Hey Dale, how's that for a plug? (hee hee)

Thanks man.

I just got a bit confused as I had gone to amazon and search for MS project
books and it returned both project 2007 books aswell as MS office project
2007.

Anyway thanks for the clarification.

Hope this dale guy gives you a cut of the sale.

I recommend "Microsoft Project For Mere Mortals" - it is a great text, plus
it comes with a CD ROM of the book in pdf format, along with several
exercises for each chapter. It's written by a PMP as well.

I also have the "Microsoft Project Bible" - which also comes with a CD ROM,
but I confess I haven't hardly used it since buying it and reading the other
book first...
