We are developing a set of tools involving client interviews for estimating the effort for tasks in sizeable projects. Using the data export tool and an example project plan, I created an Excel template for use as the data gathering tool. (It is much easier and cleaner to enter the hours per resource per task in Excel and then import to Project). It all works very well, except for one minor detail
The task names are not consistently coming across from Excel to Project. All the other data is coming across, but not all of the task names -- that is, the task name fields are blank -- resources, effort, predecessors, etc. all come across as intended. Also, the specific task names which do or do not import correctly is also inconsistent. I can take the same source file and data import map, perform the import function 10 times and have a different set of blank tasks listed each time.
Is there other information I can provide? Is it obvious to anyone what I am doing wrong
