MsProject 2003 Planning and Tracking

Hi I'm planning on using MsProject.
I 'm trying to find out whether Project 2003 can be used for tracking and
tracing.

What I would like to do is:
Set-up a planning:
a) enter tasks (wbs)
b) assing resources to the tasks
c) enter the hours required to execute the task (estimated by the resource
assigned to the task)

Tracking during the project:
Each resource reports the hours worked on a task and the ETC (Estimate To
Complete).
The idea is that a resource that estimated the required hours is also able
to estimate the remaining hours for a task.

d) enter the hours spend on a task (MsProject should caclulate the remaning
hours for the task)
e) if a user reported a different ETC the calculated ETC can be overruled.

With this information MsProject should be able to calculate the new duration
of the task (and the complete planning), the %-complete of each task.
Comparing the Total usage of a task (Actual Usage + ETC) with the baseline
shows whether a project is on schedule.

Can anyone inform me whether such a procedure is possible with MsProject
2003.
If so, can anyone give a desciption on how to do this.

Thanks,
René
