MSPS 2003 Project Archiving ?

I have completed the processes to archive projects:

1. Update all resource to proposed & publish
2. Add project to Category built for Completed Projects (Deny Open and Save).

Step 1 flushes the assignments from timesheets.
Step 2 makes the project unavailable from MS Project

However...

I currently allow resource to "Assign themselves to existing tasks" if they
are on the project team. I have found that these resources can still add
tasks from my "Archived" projects using this function.

Is there a way to remove these projects from the Project Center views and
also remove them from the list of available projects within "Assign myself to
existing tasks"?

Must give all credit to Dale Howard [MVP] and Project Experts, sharp guy,
great team, they provided this on the same question before, it is basically
to create a custom field that you then use to hide projects with a custom
category.

Cool, I got the filter for Project Center.

Might there be anything I can do to remove the projects from "Assign myself
to existing tasks"?
