MSQRY32.exe error message

Just this week, I began seeing this error message when attempting to import
an .mdb database file into Excel. I am using Office 2000 SP3 with all
avaiable updates installed with Win XP Professional:

MSQRY32.exe has genereated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.

I've never had this problem before and I suspect it may have to do with my
installation of SP2 a few days ago, which I have had to remove due to another
unrelated issue. However, after going back to SP1, I uninstalled and
reinstalled Office 2000 and am still getting the error message.

Anyone experiencing a similiar problem?
