MST Files

I created an admin install of Office 2003 SP1 on one of our servers. Then I
created 4 separate MST files each with a slightly different configuration. I
pushed Office out using Group Policies based on the MST file.

When SP2 was released I updated my admin install (after making a backup of
the original directory) and pushed this out to a few test machines. On each
of the test machines that has MS Access installed I have a problem in that
Access won't run. When you click on the Access icon to start the program it
looks like it is doing an install. This runs for about 30 - 40 seconds then
shuts down but Access never starts.

If I simply run the SETUP.EXE from the admin install (which bypasses the use
of the MST file) then Office installs correctly and Access runs as it should.
Because of this I figured the MST files were the problem so I created them
again from scratch but I get the same issue with Access not running after
upgrading to SP2 using the new MST file.

Can anyone help me with this issue. I have scoured the internet looking for
an answer but have come up empty.

I'm not sure I'm following all of your steps.
Are you saying you're getting this on new machine installs with SP2?

An MST file only applies to an initial installation of Office.

I am having this problem on all machines that have MS Access 2003. If I
install Office SP2 (upgraded over existing SP1 installs or directly onto new
PCs) using a MST file the MS Access does not run.
If I install without using a MST file and then upgrade to SP2 MS Access runs
fine. This of course leads me to believe that the MST files are to blame but
they are pretty simple. They just select which programs from the Office
suite to install, default file locations, CD Key etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
