MSWord 2002 XP Home Edition

When using MS Word 2002 my delete button won't work on my new XP Home
Edition. The only way I can delete a word is to use the back space button.
Any suggestions?

Tools | Options | General: Clear the check boxes for both options that refer
to WordPerfect.

To add to Suzanne's suggestion: another possibility is that under Tools,
Options, you need to check the Typing Replace Selection option.

Amazing! I read completely the opposite of what was written. I should read a
little harder. <g>

Thanks everyone. I tried everything but nothing has solved my problem.. I
used an old 98 for years and never experienced this. JIM W

Correct, the delete button still does not work. However it works ok using
OLE so the keyboard must be ok.

I tried the LINK and got the YES/NO in the status block but the yes/no had
no effect on anything I tried.

If you are getting the yes/no in the status bar, then clearing the
WordPerfect check boxes should clear the problem. Make sure you click OK in
the Options dialog and make sure that your Options settings are actually
being saved.
