MSWord AutoText - HELP!

A

Andrew Mercer

Hi,

Can anyone please explain the following?

I am trying to use autotext in Word to allow the adding of
Paragraphs/Sentences to Word documents.

However there is a problem when trying to access them in the final document.

1. I add AutoText entry to my Template (ie: Not globally)
2. I type the entry word/name at the beginning of a line and the entry
appears and can be used as expected.
3. I enter some text and then try accessing the same entry by typing the
name/word from within this but Nothing appears.

Note: On other attempts I find sometimes an autotext entry can be used from
within some text and some times it cannot.

I notice the same issue can occur with the standard entries (eg: Dear Sir or
Madam) etc.

Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this or why it works some times
and not others?

Thanks Andrew

Hi =?Utf-8?B?QW5kcmV3IE1lcmNlcg==?=,

An end-user (not developer) group would be the better place to ask this...

If the AutoText entry name is too short, or not unique for the first
characters, then you won't get a "completion tip".

You can create an AutoText entry with a name that's not identical to the
content, and contains no spaces. You can then type that name and press F3 to
insert the AutoText entry. That's a good approach when you want to use short
names, or have names/content that could conflict.
