MSWRD832.cnv. error message

When trying to open e-mail attachments, I am getting this
message- Winword has caused an error in MSWRD832.cnv.
Winword will now close.
Any help on this?

Yes, I have also tried saving them to disc with no luck in
opening them. I have successfully opened other e-mail
attachments in adobe reader but unsuccessful in Word.

Hi, Eva. What version of Word do you have? What version of Word was
used to create the file you're trying to open? Sometimes, a firewall or
antivirus program will interpret parts of Word files as being malicious
code and strip them out... ask the sender to send you a .zip file of the
Word document, and see if you can decompress and open that. Another
thing to try is to reinstall the text converters from your Office CD.
